Kinda obsessed with making bibs right now - lol
January 6, 2025 at 5:29 PM
I've made about 20 so far - have given most of them away as gifts, and wish I'd taken pics of them all!

I've been making these baby bibs using fabric scraps - they're reversible, use scrap batting, and fasten with velcro, a great way to use up waste!

But now, a question - would these be something that would sell - like on Etsy? How much should they be?

TIA!

Son and Daughter-in-law couldn't find any bibs they liked for their 4-month-old daughter, so I drafted pattern, grabbed some scraps, and made them a weeks worth in a couple of hours!

Continued - after letting the machine do all the work, shape into any loaf you want - 1/2 dough=Italian size, 1/3 dough=baguette, 1/4=hamburger buns, 1/6=hot dog buns!

This has never failed me yet, and costs approximately .25 cents per batch! And only a few minutes of real work

Give it a try!

Continued - use the breadmaker for mixing, kneading and 1st rising, then shape, let rise for a few more minutes (less than 30 for me) then bake in regular oven - 350 degrees

I use a recipe of 1 cup warm water, 3 cups flour, 1/8 cup yeast, one teaspoon salt, 1/8 cup oil (veg, olive, melted shortening)

I guess I'll share my secret for yummy homemade bread for pennies a loaf and less than 2 minutes for prep!

Get a used breadmaker! Thrift stores usually have them for under $20!

Use high-gluten artisinal/pizza flour from a restaurant supply - $12 for 25 pounds

Bulk yeast from same source - $7

Just pulled bread from oven - using bulk yeast and bulk flour from a Restaurant Supply, thus cost about .2/ cents!

Hey! I've got some ideas! How can you fight back?

Learn to or cook - use bulk staples produced in the USA (rice, beans, whole grains) Limit meat (treat it like a condiment/flavoring agent)

Make big batches of soups/stews and freeze for quick healthy meals

Don't give giant Corporations your money!

Good morning Bluesky - will not and did not ever support Leon and the rightwing agenda - looking forward to interactions with like-minded as I'm stuck (for now) in a deep red state and counting the days until my exit to a blue!
