British-Canadian 🇬🇧 🇨🇦 and still European 🇪🇺.
Love film, art, design, theatre, the finest cheese, and now knitting! 🧶
Note, I’m not LH the writer ✍️ and I do not post interesting stuff, or at least I try not to.
I’m old enough to remember the little paperclip helper that kept popping up on my desktop “It looks like you’re writing a letter?”. I find AI prompts equally annoying.

Canada sanctioned him meanwhile, at Johnson’s insistence, he sits in the House of Lords, Westminster at the heart of Britain’s democracy. 🤦🏻‍♀️

What’s he doing in Vegas?

And then we see it’s our own mum 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s been like that throughout modern history and they don’t recognise that maintaining this status quo (keeping ‘others’ out) is a form of affirmative action. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I like to think that most of the hate on social media is driven and amplified by bots. I like to think that maybe there aren’t so many cruel, nasty people in the world. This gives me some hope.

Got tix for this during my next London trip, plus Othello on the same day, which is also getting good reviews. Just waiting to see how High Noon does now. 🤞🏻
Looking forward to an epic week of theatre going. January can’t come fast enough.

Didn’t he also meet with Lebedev at his house the night before Johnson announced he was backing the Leave vote for the Brexit referendum.

There’s definitely more to that story. Stumbling through the airport in a crumpled suit the next day looking like a hungover frat boy who’d inexplicably woken up on the floor of a strangers house or in their hedgerow. Carelessly compromised himself and it’ll be in a file somewhere. Doubt he cares.

Controversial idea but I’m sure increasing taxes on golf courses, certainly closing all municipal ones, would benefit communities where there are severe housing shortages. Build a housing estate with recreation centre in its place. Would be far more beneficial to the local people and environment.

There’s certainly a sense of ownership of the British State and what it stands for. My guess is that its new role is to be an enclave of the US in Europe, post Brexit.

There’s increasing commentary and reframing of what Britain and Britishness stands for from an American’s perspective. We’ve heard this from Musk, Bannon, Vance and Trump. The US voices and demands on what Britain should be doing are getting louder and more aggressive in both politics and business.

I’m coming to the conclusion that many leading figures in the US see Britain as a quaint relic of past glories, and a plaything they want to keep frozen in time. The meddling in and commentary on Britain and its politics feels like there’s a growing sense of ownership.

A lot of women don’t want to be led by a woman either. Many (not all) women have daddy issues too and if you have grown up in a household with daddy at the top, head of the family, then you might be inclined to think mummy couldn’t do that job. Not always but this mindset exists amongst women too.

Either way the other side wins. I think this is an effort to help bring down the BBC.

I watch this video and I realise that I’m still angry about that pebble beach.

And this is why you'll never truly know a place until you walk it. This lovely photo reminds me of the first time I took a meander around
Stockport. This is the first time l've been able to express the utter shock of walking along that elevated street. All these years I thought I’d imagined it.

WTF - “How did that happen?!!” One minute you’re casually walking down the high street at ground level then you suddenly find you’re not, but you’re actually on a bridge several stories higher than another ground level street. First time it happened twisted my melon man. 🤯
