From my personal archives, spotted 10 years ago in the lunchroom at the NBER 📉📈
A paper sign taped to a fridge door, which reads:

To the person with the JP Licks ice cream:

This is not a freezer that keeps anything frozen. The ice cream spilled. It has been put in the upstairs freezer.

To the person with the beer:

Please remove your beer from this refrigerator. This is not the place for it. This is a small refrigerator. Only food that you consume at the NBER belongs here. Do you really drink beer at the NBER?

I am grateful to have met and learned from the formidable Dr. Jane Goodall, whose legacy will live on through all the good work she has done, seeds she has planted, and ideas she has sparked around the world.

He’s trying to tell you it’s his shed now, no longer yours. What an amazing creature.

Unexpectedly finding myself at urgent care this morning. Not gonna lie, the stickers someone left behind on a chair in the waiting room are exactly boost the I need.
“mini dots stickers - tiny fun for every one!”

Cute cat and dog stickers.

What’s everyone doing this weekend to disconnect and recharge? Today I’m off to Stratford to see TWO plays: Macbeth and Dangerous Liaisons. 🎭

hi friends! It's almost the weekend. Have you planned something fun offline? It could be reading a book, taking a long walk, going to a museum, seeing a friend, doing a craft, or cooking an elaborate meal. If you are sad, try not to be sad alone. And if you can, charge your phone away from your bed.

Greenwashing allegations at a Canadian asset management firm:

"... contrary to claims made in the firm’s sales communications — including in online posts, interviews and articles — the firm wasn’t considering ESG factors for many of its funds."

Here's a cute example. A Wall Street Journal article, "The Guard Dog Ate My Matisse," included a photo of a museum guard dog who mauled rare teddy bears that were under his care, and the expression on his face gets me every time.

When I come across something in life that makes me especially happy – a touching email, a funny photo, an uplifting article – I save it to a folder on my computer called "Happy". If ever I'm feeling a little down, I just peruse items in that folder for an instant boost.

Today I heard the expression “video podcast” for the first time.

Hello? The 20th century called and wants its talk show back.

I’m on page 87 of a 145-page dense document I have to read carefully in time for a meeting later this week. Here’s hoping pages 88-145 are just drawings for me to mindlessly peruse.

My dear husband and I got identical new laptops at the same time. I have opted to identify mine with pink glitter to ensure no mixups going forward.
My Lenovo laptop with a pink glitter skin. Now if my husband accidentally brings it with him to work there will be no denying that he did so on purpose.
