The article appears to be partly paywalled and I would encourage anyone who can afford it to subscribe, Slate's got a hell of a sale going right now and subscriptions are how they can afford to pay freelancers for articles like this one

For my fellow brokies, though:
You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof.
What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

Just to add another positive example, my husband and I have a 21 year age gap. We met at work. This year we'll be celebrating 19 years together, 13 years married. He was the first person I dated who shared my sense of humor, music/art taste, & politics/philosophy. So far so good 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks! That seems like such an obvious fix! Kicking myself for not thinking of it. I'll just have to remember to put the key back if the IT folks come knocking..

Those listing weren't always accurate. It listed my house at risk of flood because we had a mostly dried up brook (i assume that's the reason) behind our house.

We interviewed some 3rd &4th graders this week about how to cook Thanksgiving dinner. One said just find a dead turkey and cut off its head. A couple said to cook it for a few minutes. So... sorry for screwing up the AI recipes folks! The article was meant to be cute! 🤦🏼

Does anyone know what the actual bubble burst effects would be aside from an unemployed tech sector and rich people losing a tiny bit of cash? Housing bubble was regular folk given out loans they couldn't afford, dotcom bubble was everyday folk trying to make something on their own. What is this?

Not since the 90s

Seems like Dem leadership strategically requested fellow Dems who were not up for reelection next year to vote yes. In my book, that's means you're all complicit
November 10, 2025 at 5:56 PM
So Reps, don't want us to ever have affordable Healthcare and Dems want to instead use our suffering as a bargaining chip, like they've been doing with abortion access, and we are not supposed to hate them for that?

Plus probably a one time rebate of like $600 ala GWB
