Nope. Innocent as a lamb!

Nothing good I hope!

I'm sorry my friend, struggling with one's identity and not knowing who you are or why your experience is different is really tough. Personally I think that I might have had a more forgiving experience because I live in France. I don't talk about it and people don't care about what I do with my life

As I was saying in a previous comment it is not my place to judge what decision would be best (and I try to stay away from the notion that one side "deserves" rep more than the other, any rep is good rep in my book). I am fine with either, and I trust Viv to do the character justice :)

Hello, we do not know each other but I was giving my opinion as a sex repulsed aroace on what I felt my sex+ ace friends would struggle with in their journey and now that I am reading your comments it's like I was describing you!

I'm not saying it's worse, but it's different. It depends on the context and person and it's a big complicated than just deciding "this group has it worse, let's focus on them".

Many non aro sex neutral folks struggle for years because they feel nor normal, but do not relate to the "official" definition of asexuality and think something must be wrong with them. They may desire a connection but fail to find a partner who understands and respect their needs and boundaries
January 18, 2026 at 11:24 PM
Again I think the struggle is different (not "worse" though) because there's more than the social/societal components to take into consideration when discussing the ace experience. And struggling with one's identity can be as alienating as being socially ostracized
January 18, 2026 at 11:20 PM
I agree with you my friend, it needs to be discussed more in general.
I might add that I don't necessarily think sex+ aces have an easier time mingling with allos (or less struggles regarding their identities from what I observed.) But I can acknowledge that it's two different things..

A beautiful lady!!!

I'm glad too my friend, thank you for discussing things with me.
I knew nothing about asexuality before entering the fandom, despite knowing I was ace. I learned a lot but I can be callous sometimes when approaching the topic. At the end of the day we aced should stick together, and trust Viv!

I admit I didn't pay much attention (I should have) but I'm not surprised, people can be very possessive and ignorant even within the community. I'm with you honestly, I AM a shipper but I differentiate between canon and fanon and what's important is that Alastor's identity is handled with respect
January 18, 2026 at 8:05 PM
I admit it sounded better in my head, I suppose I meant that committing to only one specific choice was restrictive in general. Not that sex repulsed people were restrictive themselves because when I think about it that really does sound hurtful, I am sorry. And I am glad that you got my point
January 18, 2026 at 8:00 PM
And I agree that even within the ace community people can be very narrow-minded. We would all benefit from being kinder towards one another and focus on how we're the same, rather than how we're different
January 18, 2026 at 7:46 PM
Exactly. As I was telling someone else, it's like we have a limited amount of chocolate and a room full of people who like different recipes with chocolate. Some are bound to be disappointed that their recipe didn't get picked, but the most important thing is we have chocolate to begin with!

It's okay my friend, since you are the second person to point this out I realize I might need to be more careful next time. I really didn't mean to come on too strongly.
I think the reason Alastor elicit so much excitement compared to Mammon is because he's so badass and glamorous ahah
January 18, 2026 at 7:42 PM
I think that at the end of the day there is so few ace representation and so many flavours of asexuality that people are bound to want the character to mirror their own lived experience. I think it's a normal thing, and expressing isn't necessarily a desire to "take away" anything from somebody.
