I had strep about once a year growing up. You've gotten pretty good recs so far so I won't add on to that, but hopefully she'll start feeling better about 24 hours after she starts antibiotics! Hang in there 💜

It's been a long time since I read it, and I lost track of it while it was still being released so I never finished it. And it's a webcomic. BUT. Possibly "O Human Star"? I can't remember if there is sex though.
