I pride myself on having my finger on the pulse, so with the Emperor and Empress in town, naturally, I decided to dig into Hirohito’s 1947 visit to Hiroshima.
The current Emperor and Empress of Japan are in Hiroshima for two days as part of their commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. Here, we take a look at the first imperial visit to Hiroshima by Emperor Hirohito, 2.5 years after the bombing.

TEPCO is tearing down contaminatedwater holidng tanks at #Fukushima because they have built a pipeline to drain the water to the sea.
They need space to store contaminated equipment & debris. Removing corium will take ~100 years, all at taxpayer expense.

I'm not particularly surprised at this or believe it is especially the fault of the people of the US. It does show, however, how hard it is to break through and highlights the strength and resilience of Hiroshima and Nagasaki's A-bomb survivors #Hiroshima80 #HiroshimaNagasaki80
