I’ve sat in my grief since 4 PM. Working in the higher education, space has given me a lot of joy. I worked in the secondary education, too. I’ll tell you one thing the landscape is forever changed. For better or worse, changed.

My mother asked me why I was allowing a political difference to stand in the way of getting together with family. My response: A difference in politics is debating tax rates or infrastructure. A difference in morality is whether people deserve basic human rights, dignity, and safety.

For 12 years, I believed I had a gluten intolerance and followed a gluten-free diet. Five years ago, I ate a cookie made with European wheat and didn’t experience the usual reaction. I then realized my issue is with American wheat, not gluten itself.
