This intricate monogram spells "MULTI," the opening of Hebrews, with its letters interlaced into one decorative form. From Ms. Theol. Lat. Qu. 1, a manuscript from a group of liturgical books commissioned by Bishop Sigebert of Minden (1022–1036).

Once lost, now rediscovered:

Beinecke MS 883, a 12th-century Cistercian codex. Our team is examining it using UV light to reveal hidden inscriptions. The manuscript has traveled a long way: from Altenberg via Ląd to Yale.
