hell yeah!! my fascination didn't come until later but i finally decided to go in may

... i need to do more planning

ook fascinerend hoe mensen die zulke verhalen typen in een tweet nooit van het fenomeen "paragraaf" lijken te hebben gehoord

ohhhhh i just realized the z gauge manufacturer is called rokuhan because Z gauge is 6.5 mm (six is 六 roku, half is 半 han)
live.from.roys.house
i've kinda been doing that tbh, because i've been too lazy to refloor the hallway (i bought this place, it had carpet but it needed other work)

but it's not great, concrete wears a lot faster unless it's been treated or coated
live.from.roys.house
it's affect. the A is when you Alter. the E is when you uhhh... crEatE? Establish?
live.from.roys.house
just the subfloor, usually concrete. sometimes particle board

this doesn't mean i'm going to stop thinking about this stuff entirely btw just that my brain can think about other shit now :v

i might just keep watching this 'shigemon' guy on youtube too i find his japanese relatively easy to understand

i think i finally got my little obsession with the model trains unstuck though. i think the conclusion is that T scale is too finicky and it wouldn't be fun enough for what it costs, Z scale looks nice but is a big step up in price, that i'm not willing to spend. plus i have other shit to do
live.from.roys.house
i did also notice that prices seem wayyyyy lower in japan, so i might just like. visit a hobby store when i'm over there. i was already planning to go to akihabara anyway lol. and i'll probably have space in my checked baggage

just a complete ADHD mess all week, staying up too late so i don't sleep enough and not drinking enough, being distracted by stupid shit all the time etc.

this week also sucked but it is once again over

👉 Marleen Stikker (oprichter digitale stad)
👉 Victor Knaap (oprichter Monks Media)
👉 Marijn Pijnenborg (oprichter funda)
👉 Peter Wennink (oud ceo ASML)
👉 Derek Roos (Founder Mendix)
👉 Janneke Niessen (CapitalT)
👉 Jelle Prins (Cradle.bio)
👉 Haroon Sheikh (senior wetenschapper WRR, bijzonder hoogleraar Strategic Governance of Global Technologies VU)
👉 Noelle Cicilia (founder Brush AI)

Wie zou jij voordragen als minister van Digitale Zaken? Laat het weten in de comments. Succession meme, you are not serious people

it was tiny trains, of course. i was just curious how much electronics you could cram into one of those t-gauge cars.

didn't design it all the way through but this was just sort of a thought experiment with a cortex m0 microcontroller and brushless motor driver. seems like it would fit
kicad screenshot showing a tiny pcb (25 by 5 millimetres) with a bridge rectifier (diodes inc. SBR05M60BLP), an ARM cortex M0+ microcontroller (TI MSPM0C1104), and three half bridges (diodes inc. DMC6070LND), plus a 3.3V regulator and some other bits

spent a good chunk of tonight doing pcb layout for something i'll probably never build. been a while since i did one of those

i am actually going now, but please spend some time reflecting on whether there is any truth to that. no need to reply. i am not asking you to convince me of anything here. i am muting this, anyway, so i don't think we'll cross paths again.
live.from.roys.house
you say that but i remain unconvinced. it looks to me like you are just reflexively arguing -- you decided it was wrong before you even clicked the link, and so all you had to do was scan for anything you could use to confirm that.
live.from.roys.house
i suggest reading for longer than one minute after you say "let me click this" because there is literally a quote saying that "the evolutionary addition [...] is simply not realistic." i.e. structures in the brain did not arise in sequence, "around" each other. they developed in parallel
live.from.roys.house
anyway i gotta go to bed. have a good life or whatever
live.from.roys.house
have you like... tried to look for it at all? or were you just hoping to passively stumble across an explanation? because this comes up as the first search result for me

tl;dr reptilians didn't do it first, nor did reptilian brains stop evolving, nor did those structures stop evolving in humans

what would you have done, add more diagnoses? reference more sixty-year-old neuroanatomical theories?
live.from.roys.house
i'm gonna be honest i don't find it terrifying so much as annoying. you come across as if you think you're very clever here. but i gotta say i find the actual substance somewhat lacking
live.from.roys.house
everything else aside, this is such an odd take lol. both in its content and in the fact you felt the need to bring it up here. evolution isn't some kind of predestined linear sequence of developments, there is no "next brain". and the whole "reptilian brain" notion is kinda dubious anyway
live.from.roys.house
my brain keeps wanting to think about model railroad stuff and it's No Good
