"We're all so much alike... and yet we're all so different! I find myself rejoicing at the endless variety of human beings, and that's partly, I know, because your differences from one another tell me that it's alright for me to be different in many ways, too."
- Fred Rogers

NEW: DOGE can now access a HUD system that includes addresses domestic violence survivors have relocated to for safety, medical records in disability cases and credit reports in lending discrimination cases.

Few of the records are redacted or anonymized.

DOGE Gains Access to Confidential Records on Housing Discrimination, Medical Details — Even Domestic Violence
While some agencies have resisted efforts by Elon Musk’s team to access confidential records, HUD has opened the door. The potential harm to privacy could be significant.

Spent half an hour on the walking pad, scrolling through DJ mixes. Nice way to tire myself out before bed and think through creative projects.

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

With everything else that went on today, I chose stepping back a bit into my crafts. Nothing wrong with taking those moments as you need them.

I spent the afternoon perfecting the basketweave stitch in needlepoint. Whenever attempting a new fiber art, I like repeating an element until it becomes muscle memory. The complicated designs can come later as I find the relaxation in those small, simple movements.

Bouncing between #knitting/crochet and #needlepoint/crochet is a perfect balance for my hand muscles. I pop on my compression gloves and do exercises in between, but I really just love the #fiberarts in all of their complexities.

I cannot wait to read the case studies on the TikTok to Red Note activity over the weekend.

It’s a hope I have daily, but I truly want those suffering across the globe to receive the resources and happiness they deserve. Tragedies are constant and it starts to feel like no end is in sight. Do what you can, at any scale, and remember that’s still making a difference for at least one person.

It’s that favorite time of year where I glitch every time I write “2024” instead of “2025” for the next month or so…
