As our surface water evaporates and lessens in a warming climate, our groundwater will become ever more critical. If we allow the gas industry to stuff up Qld's regional groundwater resources, we are stuffing them up for our future generations. 🧵

When we live on the most arid inhabited continent on earth, it really makes one ask if allowing foreign-owned gas companies to extract thousands of megalitres of water per yr from the Great Artesian Basin, in order to export GHG emitting fossil fuels, really is a wise move⁉️ 🧵

We are not jumping at shadows when we say that #CSG mining risks adversely affecting the future of the Darling Downs and its precious groundwater forever.

So many scientific unknowns remain, and yet gas companies like Arrow Energy have been granted approval to drill 💯s of gas wells in some of Qld's most sensitive locations.
