same people who would go crazy over dihydrogen monoxide in water when that's literally the word form of H2O

Wonder why both didn't improve in the second run.....

Maybe cause both are mid at best.

The solution isn't more AI. That's how we got to 95% of the industry built on hot air and hallucinations

Well, don’t be whining when the dictator starts arresting us for our dissenting opinions.

Ah, right. Forgot!

What a turnaround, Paris, then over to FSExpo!
June 22, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Uh, no? I don't feel that at all.
June 22, 2025 at 8:10 PM
I agree, but be careful using AI, it hallucinates things.
June 22, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Well, the 1932 Olympics were held in Nazi Germany, so it happens.

You threw away your vote then. Jill Stein has been ineffective since she was in local politics and appears out of nowhere every 4 years to run.

Ferrari doesn't deserve such a dedicated fan base for a team that's been all mistakes recently.

One of the things that I love about history is just all the examples that human nature never really changes. lmao
May 8, 2025 at 7:45 PM
It's somewhat satisfying to see it crushed, don't you think?
May 8, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Hmm, I wonder why we don't say that. Maybe because it's a lot to say?
May 8, 2025 at 7:38 PM
At the end of the day, I can say:

"First Pope from America"

And you can say:

"Segundo Papa de América"

And we would both be correct.

We don't tell El Salvador to call themselves THE Salvador, do we?
May 8, 2025 at 7:32 PM
So why expect us to change the way we commonly refer to our country?
May 8, 2025 at 7:27 PM
My brother in Christ, many countries have different names for themselves versus the entire world. Some examples include:

Suomi -> Finland
Nihon -> Japan
Zhōngguó -> China

This is no different. To expect any different is ignorance.

Remember, the English language has a distinction between the continents of South and North America, and the country, colloquially known as "America."

Please understand that this is a facet of our language, just how Finland is "Suomi" in Finnish.
May 8, 2025 at 7:16 PM
I sure do love it when other languages hold English to an unrealistic standard. If the Pope was from Finland, Finnish-language outlets would say he's from Suomi. Is that any less correct? No. Because the distinction between continents and country is LANGUAGE SPECIFIC!
May 8, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Both what the NY Times is reporting and your comment are true.
May 8, 2025 at 7:05 PM
This distinction is important and a part of the English language. Other languages might treat it differently, but holding an English publication to standards of another language makes no sense. Why should I expect English to have gendered articles when we don't have one?
May 8, 2025 at 7:03 PM
I think there's an important distinction to be made here:

First Pope from AMERICA (country)

Second Pope from THE AMERICAS (continents, plural)
