I was not prepared for how a lifeless body would feel in my arms. She passed so quickly and peacefully, I have never witnessed her be so calm.

Today I buried my animal companion of 10 years. I experienced a quiet meditation knowing her time is up and preparing. Digging her grave, building her coffin, picking out her burial shroud, gathering flowers I had preserved. But nothing prepared me for witnessing her last breath.

I spent time working in a garden that is not my own. I have beds that are overdue for winterization, compost for revamping, etc. But I have the luxury of doing these tasks in safety. Community gardens are no longer safe spaces for some people who have worked hard to cultivate their plot. Fuck ICE.

I saw a question asking if people thought porn was cheating, and a lot of people answered yes. Which got me thinking- I believe that it is important to discuss this early in dating. It is unfair to have drastically different ideas of what cheating is.

I am doing research on the intersections of sex work and disabilities. There are several similarities between whorephobia and ableism: stigma around visibility, being seen as disposable or needing saved/cured, and being excluded from designing solutions intended to help, just to name a few.

I'm at a point in my life where instead of having a huge gap in my resume, I talk about my decade+ of sex work experience and I only apply to places that value the skills I have learned from sex work.
