I am reading too much on vibes and not enough strategy.

I never fail to get a little teary when my girls get sworn in as junior rangers at a national park. Today they promised to protect and preserve Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and other National Parks.

It’s a pretty good pledge for grown ups to make too. (Photos of them working on their booklet)

My reading goal was 90 books and I read 94. (Of at least 65 pages.) I stand by everything on that 5 star reading list especially Angeline Boulley & Fredrik Backman. I read some beautiful literary fiction, great sci fi, interesting non fiction, and also a bunch of fun romance.

This is mine. It cycles around as a meme on various socials. I’m happy if this is what I’m known for. (Also this was pre-COVID, the kid had good instincts)

When midnight rings in a new year and the skies themselves are dancing, I have to believe it is a good sign. Welcome 2025. How amazing that this was the way we saw it come in.

We are doing our annual drive around to look at lights. 2071 Campbell Place has outdoor cases for Christmas villages and a bonfire going. They gave us mini candy canes. The best display yet.

Two recent five star reads. The Mr. Rogers biography (read by Levar Burton) reminded me to focus on the “one small good thing” I can do, to focus on my service.
Warrior Girl Unearthed is a companion to Firekeeper’s Daughter. Both are gorgeous coming of ages books about Indigenous women.

Hey Anchorage. My best purchase last year was a rechargeable hand warmer. It doubles as a back up phone bank. Costco has them this year. Mine was REI last year.
