I was proud to join the Illinois Labor History Society Hall of Honor to celebrate my @ibewinternational.bsky.social brother Lonnie Stephenson, Jesse White, Larry Spivack, Cipriano Samonte and the generations of labor activists who have fought for progress, dignity and respect for all working people.

Big Tech is trying to sneak language into a giant bill to ban states from enacting AI safety laws. Workers should have protections from AI-related risks in their states.

The labor movement is urging Congress to oppose this provision in the National Defense Authorization Act.

We need every representative — Republican or Democrat — who supports working people to vote for the Protect America’s Workforce Act.

Tell Congress: restore federal workers’ union rights!

There’s now bipartisan majority support to bring @golden.house.gov's Protect America’s Workforce Act to the House floor for a vote NOW. It’s time to stop the Trump administration’s union-busting and restore federal workers’ union rights. https://bit.ly/3M6zJAF

We support Starbucks @sbworkersunited.org baristas, who are taking a stand against corporate greed and union-busting.

All 15 million members of America’s unions are in solidarity with Starbucks workers as they fight for a fair contract!

It was great to join state federation and central labor council organizers today for our Frontline Solidarity Convening. America’s unions are continuing to organize and mobilize - so we’re ready to defend all of our union siblings, regardless of immigration status.

It was great to join For The Long Term for their D.C. Forum. When we come together and invest our pensions in smart and prudent ways, we can solve workers’ biggest challenges — from housing, to infrastructure and more — while providing for a secure retirement for all.

America’s unions stand with @sbworkersunited.org today as they strike at corporate stores across the country.

We urge CEO Brian Niccol and Starbucks corporate executives to do right by the workers and negotiate a long-overdue fair contract. https://bit.ly/4qZkRnP

I’m thinking about my dad today on #VeteransDay — a proud Vietnam veteran of the Marine Corps. When he came home, a union apprenticeship put him on the path to a good job.

The labor movement will keep standing with all veterans to deliver the future they deserve. aflcio.org/press/releas...

After more than 3 YEARS on strike facing relentless union busting, @pghguild.com members at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette have won!

This is a testament to the power that working people have when we stand in solidarity with each other.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi was a trailblazer who used her leadership to make life better for working people.

She was one of the most effective Speakers in history and reshaped our nation for the better.

This shutdown is now at 37 days and counting - the longest in America’s history.

Working families are feeling the pain of the shutdown and health care crisis. Enough is enough.

Fund the government.
Fix the health care crisis.
Put working people first.

Lacrosse players put their passion and their expertise into a sport that is skyrocketing in popularity, and they deserve a union that protects them on the field and in their lives.

Welcome to the @aflcio.org and our Sports Council, NLLPA! aflcio.org/press/releas...

The NLRB is one of workers’ only paths to workplace justice when their rights are violated. The AFL-CIO and OPEIU filed this motion to make sure working people aren’t being silenced, and that the law works to protect our freedom to join a union. aflcio.org/press/releas...

I’m in New Jersey with union volunteers getting out the vote for pro-worker candidates all across the state. As my friend, @NJAFLCIO President Charlie Wowkanech says, “Our unions turn out in record numbers to do the work!”
November 5, 2025 at 12:16 AM
Getting out the vote is one of the most uplifting things you can do as a union member, knocking on doors, making phone calls, and letting other union members know about the candidates who stand with workers. #ElectionDay

Were you shocked to see how much your ACA health care premium is going up for 2026? Help us show how the Trump administration’s refusal to extend ACA tax credits is about to cause a health care crisis in this country. #PostYourPremium

42 million people could go hungry next week because funding for SNAP food assistance will run out. The Department of Agriculture has contingency funds to help people get fed, but they refuse to release them.

Tell Congress and the USDA: release the funds! https://bit.ly/47eB2WG

I’m thrilled to welcome Alex Rias to the AFL-CIO as our Director of Civil, Human and Women’s Rights! His leadership will strengthen our movement’s efforts to protect workers’ fundamental rights and ensure every worker has a voice on the job. aflcio.org/press/releas...

I’m so proud of my union sister Roxanne Brown, who will be sworn in as the next International President of the @steelworkers.bsky.social! Let’s keep building worker power across the country!

America’s unions thank President McCall for his dedicated service to Steelworkers and ALL working people.

Working families are already struggling to make ends meet—they can’t afford for their health insurance costs to spike, too.

Enough is enough.

Fund the government.
Fix the mounting health care crisis.
Put working people first.

Women with disabilities are paid only $0.56 for every dollar that a man without disabilities makes.

On #DisabledWomensEqualPayDay, America’s unions reaffirm our commitment to fair pay and a living wage for every worker—and a union contract is how we level the playing field!

Three weeks into the government shutdown, our message remains the same:

Enough is enough.

Fund the government.
Fix the mounting health care crisis.
Put working people first.

Millions of people across the country showed up today to stand up to the Trump administration and protect federal workers, our health care and our communities.

This is what democracy looks like. No kings—not now, not ever!
October 18, 2025 at 7:57 PM
America’s unions will be out in force today marching to protect our federal workers, our health care and our democracy.

Together, we have the power to turn back the Trump administration’s attacks on working people.

Happy No Kings Day.
