In a statement on Boxing Day, the UN’s human rights office (OHCHR) highlighted the UK government’s harsh treatment of the hunger-strikers.

Jury trials have not caused the criminal justice system crisis. Removing the right to a jury trial and has not been piloted nor thoroughly modelled
