I believe it is important for journalists to stay independent in order to protect their integrity. However, people easily begin to take words out of intention, causing misinformation to spread. #UWJ201 #306

I believe AI is on a continuous rise within our media. It can be really insightful in providing quick facts, but can also prose a threat as it may be bias or not have the full truth of a story. Additionally, it begins to take away the role of journalists within our society. #UWJ201 #306

Great question! I think neutral professionalism is powerful in gathering information and obtaining the facts of the case. However, I feel as though advocacy professionalism is what fuels change and prompts discussion, which can in some cases be more impactful. #UWJ201 #306

I believe the peripheral route triggers the most receptiveness because people spend minimal time evaluating the message itself. This leads to minimal efforts in swaging large audiences with emotional appeals. Less analysis from individuals equates to higher persuasion. #UWJ201 #306

However, this suggestion still isn't seen as often as it should be. So I began to wonder, how can the media balance the need for compelling headlines and emotional engagement with the responsibility to accurately portray minorities, particularly Black communities? (2/2) #UWJ201 #306

Conspiracy theories continue to thrive online because they provide simple explanations people want to hear, especially within social media. Nonetheless, media outlets should still counter these claims, critically evaluating whether it is true or false. #UWJ201 #306

Conspiracy theories are easy to trust when they provide you with the information you want to hear. However, this can be a harmful coping mechanism as it provides misinformation. A healthier coping mechanism would involve acknowledging potential fears driving the conspiracy theory. #UWJ201 #306

Hi, there! Right now I am choosing to focus on my physical wellness. It helps me a lot detaching from course work for a moment in my day and leaves me feeling accomplished. I also am focusing on growing my connections with my friends, deepening our friendship! #UWJ201 #306

This is a really good point! I believe right leaning cable news, such as Fox, will fail to cover this point because it goes against many of their stories and claims. However, I would not be surprised if left leaning cable news (CNN) and even eventually mainstream news covered it. #UWJ201 #306

Although misinformation surrounds us everywhere, I feel as though the amount of misinformation surrounding Covid-19 has subsided. By now, most information has been fact checked and informed through experts due to Covid not being a new topic anymore. #UWJ201 #306

Great question! I believe if young people didn't rely as heavily on social media, the information they'd consume would be less skewed, more trusted, and more accurate. Many times, the information provided on social media corresponds solely to ones existing opinions and information. #UWJ201 #306

with a similar interest in their message. The heart of protests can be best reflected if no bias is formed when recording. (2/2) #UWJ201 #306

This is a really good point that I think about often, too. Unfortunately, the news needs something that will catch the media's attention--violence being one of them. To steer away from this, the media should begin to highlight the purpose of the protest by utilizing reporters -- (1/2) #UWJ201 #306

I like the idea of combatting mean world syndrome at the media level, but I think that would be a far stretch due to how large and few corporations control media. Rather, educating people so they can be conscious of their decisions and connect with the content they desire may help. #UWJ201 #306

I feel as though the headlines of digital journalism still matters. The headlines are what drives the popularity of the post, leading to the number of likes, shares, and views. Digital journalism must first capture the attention of the media in order to see a positive result. #UWJ201 #306

One of the most effective strategies I believe retailers could use is analyzing customer purchase data. Discovering what customers purchase often and framing their advertisements towards their desires could help retain or even boost sales. #UWJ201 #306

Ensuring a wider range of voices to be included in political discussion is difficult considering our country is relatively split between two political parties. However, I believe it comes down to those who vote. Each individual voicing their opinion contributes to the policies shared. #UWJ201 #306
