Is not nearly as drilled into kids in (some I guess) US schools. Perhaps explaining why there is so much lack of education around medicine and vaccines there, because you don't forget those photographs if you studied them in school.

Depicting those crucial and harrowing photographs of the kids in the iron lungs, of babies with whooping cough, great detail of the plague etc. and I was surprised to hear the other was not familiar with these haunting photographs that we all know so well.

I had this convo earlier with an American (I'm UK). We had an entire year in history on medical advancements, Marie curie, nightingale, Fleming etc. and history of diseases and how vaccinations came to be, penicillin invented etc.
