I get the silliest ideas while practicing - here’s “All of Me” in the style of a “Courante” by J. S. Bach. Enjoy? Kids - ask your parents for a Fadolín!

Putting a functional spin on a very influential contemporary trend..? Come to Columbia University's St. Paul Chapel this Thursday to see and hear some solo fadolín favorites as well as a few of my world premieres, featuring cellist Tamar Sagiv and organist Julian Bennett Holmes.

Boo! Happy Halloween from Trio Fadolín!

Continuing our thread of music from Central Asia, here's a minute of the "Serenade" by Uzbekistan-based composer Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky. Commissioned by MetLiveArts and recorded live in concert at Columbia, it's one of our favorite pieces to play.

Seems I've paused posting here for a while - somehow the lure of having so many friends still on FB/IG -- vs very little interaction here -- has made it harder to continue here. Also, posting shorter texts is challenging. But if you're still reading this -- I have lots of shows coming up --

That terrifying moment when your 5 year old Intel-based Mac laptop is finally showing signs of ageing, yet you can't replace it because new computers come with a new OS that isn't compatible with most music software.

Today I had to make a SkypeOut call for the first time since Skype was discontinued - total mess. Signing into MSFT account to open some outdated Skype pages to reactivate credit, downloading Teams App only to use some in-browser dialer on my phone, which would mute each time the screen went dark.

I don't want to link to Instagram here, but there are some things IG conveys conveniently - such as little a medley of little snippets from a couple of recent shows with the accordionist / composer / pianist Simone Baron --> www.instagram.com/p/DMfahOBgZ6v/

I was so fortunate to have Karen Ritscher as my viola teacher and mentor through high school. Karen shaped generations of talented violists, not just as players but -- perhaps foremost -- as humans.

Ten years ago this week I moved my domain email from Gmail to @fastmail.com — at that point I was looking for a standard IMAP implementation, and ended up staying for the great tech support, superior filters and no tracking.

Unlike the performance marathon that was June, July is more about composing projects -- I have just one show to play and it should be special!

Join us July 20 at 8pm at Barbès with the wonderful accordionist/pianist/composer Simone Baron.

Summer heatwaves in our house almost always mean one thing --- remote recording sessions! Also - not one but FOUR @triofadolin.bsky.social shows this weekend -- two appearances at @metmuseum.org and two shows at Queens Libraries Saturday and Sunday ... ice those preamps and bring it on!

Musician friends, does this happen to you? You AirDrop a new version of a score into ForScore on an iPad but keep getting incremental duplicates instead of an option to overwrite your existing score? This has baffled me for a long time -- but now I've figured it out. 1/2

Back in New York after performing w National Sawdust Ensemble in the premiere of very moving & transformative Paola Prestini opera “Sensorium Ex” as part of the @csensesfest in Omaha! An opera that dreams in possibility, giving voice & a platform to a community largely unheard in today’s arts.
