Before they’re done the men leading our major AI labs are gonna not only discover the secrets of intelligence but — more importantly — speed(re)run the history of 20c literary theory. They coulda just majored in English.

You’re allowed to influence anything… except whether and in what way the economy is regulated.

I am so happy to announce we’re starting a new major in LLM Prompting. I hear it’s the future.

Who knew living in a cyberpunk dystopia would be so boring.

Important also that students and faculty not be given or allowed to use email either. 🤔

If a college or university pledged to eliminate not only AI but screens from campus, outside dedicated labs, I would want very badly to teach there.

What are the most effective things—even if they sound extreme—that we can do to limit, and ideally abolish, the unauthorized use of AI on campus? www.theatlantic.com/culture/arch...

I will say, it's also (obviously) an individual problem! Whether a journal editor should take the initiative to report a person who does this is a hard call; I would be inclined to. I do suspect that for every blatant case like this there are lots of subtler cases w/o hallucinated quotes.
