That’s says a lot about what kind of advantage having Allen is for a coach and a team too. I think most people recognize Allen is good enough to make it to a Super Bowl. Can’t say that for McD.

They didn’t stick with him for 9 years before winning one. McD has more than had a fair shot.

So. They still ultimately won super bowls. If the next coach stinks like mayo, it would still be the most coveted job cus of Allen.

He got to be coach for 9 years. He will get to be a head coach again. That doesn’t seem like he’s been written off as chopped liver. He was a good hire and he should no longer be coach of the bills.

He had Allen at peak powers With anyone else, he is doing worse even if he is a good coach. Good coaches like stefnaski or Belicheck or whoever don’t last 5 seasons without a franchise qb so McD likely wouldn’t either. Very few exceptions to that rule like cowher and Tomlin

He was a good hire and it was good he created stability and continuity but if the bills ended up Rosen or heck even Darnold or baker, McD would have been fired long ago.

Fair point tho I think it’s premature to put Ben Johnson in the best category or reputation already. For me, 13 seconds defined him. 4 different oc hires, 2 dc…no Kromer. Deserves credit for

They tend to have stronger relationships with the owner. They spend more time together. Typically a gm gets 2 shots at the apple or a coach or more. This was weirder cus McD came first but same rules probably apply.
