Tired of faffing around cleaning up shoddy markup when carrying out accessibility assessments?

Not enough hours in the day to tinker with the many options in the HTML De-crapulator?

Then what you need is the '1-Click De-crapulator'!

He always does this, and he never actually pays attention despite being asked on numerous occasions. I think you are speaking to a brick wall there, Stephanie.

Also handy for adding extra cruft to pages for testing reflow/overflow issues etc

Another little bookmarklet I put together for one specific aim: I wanted to duplicate an element on a page so that I could apply a focus style to it while having the default style next to it (for screenshot purposes):

One other advantage is that whenever I update existing scripts or add new ones, if you have the extension you'll get the updates automatically.

So, please go give it a spin, let me know what you think.

But then, have you seen the 'design' of a11y-tools? Hardley stopped me there ...

So, I made an extension that has all of my bookmarklets in. It looks just exactly how I expected it would look, but it does the job!

I've been asked a number of times whether I would ever consider bundling all of my bookmarklets up into an extension. My response has largely been along the lines of "Well, I might, but my design 'skills' have been a blocker because I can't make it look anything other than slightly shit".

I'll be heading off to a CAN (Champions of Accessibility Network) meet-up in London later today and while I usually post such things on a Friday, I'll break the rule here in case anyone who's attending wants to ask me about any of this later.

That's an odd name. I'd have called them "chazzwazzers"

what's the stupidest/randomest Simpsons quote that lives in your head rent free? Mine is the urge to say "you said go to bread" every time I am about to head to bed.

Reporting an accessibility issue and noted the hex value of a colour #bdbdbd. Unexpected flashback moment.

It confuses me no end. Give me an X. I know it means ‘close this thing’ and not ‘OK’, ‘approve’,’carry on’ or whatever

Damn. I should have guessed! I definitely took it to mean the latter, but then again this is The Sun.

Agree on all points. “JK Rowling and the Gobful of Ire” is a superb headline.

Like any right thinking human person I loathe The Sun, but they do have a way with their headlines on occasion.

David Very Cross. And deservedly so.

I believe this is called a hyphenated compound modifier. I used to get into arguments with our marketing team at a company I used to work for because they always got this wrong. Their defence was that they weren’t chopping and changing, so at least they were consistently wrong.

It’s incredible. One of the best movies I’ve seen in years. Watch it, then watch the making of (both on Netflix)
