With a wide open EC the time is now to push forward without him. Respectfully I don’t agree that firing him was a bad move. It was a hard truth and the right move.

He is a big part of our turnaround in the last 3 years but a defensive coach couldn’t make his two best offensive players play better defense so it makes sense that this is the end of the road.

Players were unhappy about the rotation and the heavy minutes of the starters (Bridges specifically spoke out). He only started to play his bench when the series was clearly in favour of the Pacers. There are high standards for NYK and Thibs is not going to get them all the way there.

Some are missing the point here - the Knicks are trying to win a title not just be good!
It’s not a stupid move when Thibs was clearly out coached in the ECF in large part to not wanting to adapt. The Knicks front office clearly see this is the time to reach the finals in hopes of winning a title
