Viable for how long? For how many? The billionaires didn't get there without govt. contracts, tax breaks. Money that came from our schools, our roads, our military, our health care, our consumer rights protections funded the modern "Libertarian" oligarchs.

Okay, but my point isn't whether a Libertarian would argue that the Gilded Age was successful period for some. Also, during that time there were tariffs, property taxes, and excise taxes.
My point is, there has never been a successful purely libertarian society that has succeeded.

I had a great AOR radio station until 1984 that played lots of Traffic, Spencer Davis, Blind Faith. Winwood's solo career was taking off during that time and late at night they'd play the entire 'Arc of a Diver' album.
