These findings emphasize the importance of mountainous regions as potential biodiversity refuges amidst global climate change, but also the need for further research to understand the drivers of short- and long-term population declines, particularly in #AfrotropicalMountains

Notably, some species showed changes in abundance, with the endemic and threatened #TaitaWhite-eye (Zosterops silvanus) exhibiting a declining trend, while the #EasternNicator (Nicator gularis) demonstrated an increase in abundance.

Using mist-netting data collected along an elevational gradient over a 13-year period, we observed that the majority of the 18 studied species maintained stable populations.

Serotine. One of my favourite #bats! I have a PhD available, using new methods to find serotine roosts and understand movement patterns. Will help to develop a rabies vaccination strategy: a priority for people and bats! Pls share! www.surrey.ac.uk/bbsrc-wessex... @batconservation.bsky.social 🦤🌍🦇
