They have always been an appropriate way to fund public education. In the 50’s and 60’s a moral obligation unless you were religious and wanted your children to be indoctrinated in that religion. So it is true from my experience that the religious do not like taxes, nor helping kids get educated.

I do if you send your kids to private schools. Which comes first poor schools or the lack of participation of parents in those schools. My dad worked three jobs in the 50’s and 60’s to make ends meet. Don’t loose your morals and remember you are not a victim but in charge of your own reality.

This was a horrible time in the 80’s many lovely kind people lost their lives during that time. I am grateful that we have a vaccine now. Stay vigilant
