This is a very good explainer by Hank Green about the apparent rise in autism cases. I have a PhD in Educational Psychology and his analysis makes good sense to me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdpS...

My findings suggest that American support for Taiwan is more fragile than we anticipate, and that under certain conditions, support for certain critical kinds of Taiwan policy can decline when Taiwan becomes framed as a partisan issue.
lnachman32.bsky.social
This project tests whether or not when Taiwan is framed as a Republican and Democratic issue if that affects whether or not people continue to support various kinds of Taiwan policy.

When support for Ukraine became a partisan issue, support began to quickly decline. This decline over what was previously a stalwart bipartisan issue is incredibly worrying, not just for Ukraine’s own sake, but what it means for support for places like Taiwan.
lnachman32.bsky.social
Taiwan today is debating what declining support for the U.S. among Taiwanese voters means for its future. This project is deeply concerned with the other side of the coin: whether or not support for Taiwan in the United States can remain bipartisan among Democrats and Republicans.

For @foreignaffairs.com, @poscwty1.bsky.social and I wrote about how polarization in Taiwan has reached dangerous levels. Partisan politics needs an off-ramp, both for the sake of Taiwan’s national security, and its ability to function as a democracy.
