I've been trying to build a calendar around having 2 main "Seasons"
Summer: mid May thru late Sept.
Winter: End of Oct thru early Feb.
With Spring and Autumn being short transitional states defined by plant growth/decay.
But I actually like your non-contiguous Seasons more!

Is this a policy change? When I was in school friends of mine got to be in a room alone with an assistant to help them read and even write.

There are, of course, instances when only one of those words will scan. Perhaps the above is why people get it wrong, trying to sound fancier.
