The biggest question is what will happen to One Nation Conservativism. Already the Thatcherite tradition has seemingly been taken on by Reform, in the same way Labour absorbed Radical Liberalism.

To make this go full circle, Cowan was actually accused by Unionists of being a foreign agent during the 1910 general elections.

His election campaign in 2022 and his attachment to a retrenched British nationalism makes this unsurprising. It will make Renfrew a big target for reform next year with politics still very localised there

I can't comment on the fishing as that wasn't mentioned — other than smoked fish traditionally being a staple protein source.

Cattle grazing is stationary. Although I should add that beef production was very much a product of modernity in Japan — pre 19th c. meat consumption was taboo and not done.
