He's a great example of the "fake auteur" that mainstream comics produce every once in a while. And one of the better ones.

There's a bookstore in Seattle that has their "arty" graphic novels in a separate section called "Graphica". Ugh.

Well, yeah, that goes without saying. I'm always bummed that there are any pictures at all. I'd prefer more captions and word balloons with his glorious prose.
