I trained #Judo last night for the first time in 2 months. Felt great being on the tatami again with my sons. I skipped randori and just did technique drills and conditioning. My shoulders didn’t hurt too bad! Rehab has really helped out.

MRI results show no visible tears in my rotator cuff so I'm relieved. Doc said my condition is degenerative tendinopathy which means I have shitty shoulder health. So... more physical therapy, hold off on hard sparring sessions, and avoid the white belts.

Finally found the courage to watch my 2 matches from 11/9 at Jiu Jitsu World League! At the start of both I felt an adrenaline dump and went on autopilot. I’m glad that my body chose to fight instead of flee. I didn’t remember anything but I can see that I fought the way I trained and prepared 😌 🥈

I placed 2nd at Jiu Jitsu World League this weekend! I wanted gold in my first #BJJ competition but found out my gas tank sucks. This won’t be the last time since I had a lot of fun prepping and I love the camaraderie. Finally, I feel like a purple belt 💜

Wow, my bracket for Jiu Jitsu World League is now a 3-person round robin. I thought I wouldn’t get any matches since I’m older, purple belt and under 141lbs. Been training hard and watching my diet to make the best of my first competition 💪🏽

Week and a half out from my first #BJJ competition. My right shoulder all of a sudden hurts more than my impinged left shoulder. And that’s after dialed down the intensity of my practices 😩
