I’m not sure what’s worse: that this Halifax man had his life savings stolen; that at 66 someone’s life savings is $28,000; or that his partner makes less than $28,000 a year while working full-time. Canada ain’t what it used to be, but at least his bank reimbursed him! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Why did the UK want its effort to get through Apple’s encryption to be kept secret?
Because it didn’t want its own citizens to know it’s spying on them, and trying to get access to their encrypted data.

The LA Fires demonstrate an increasing need for decentralization of water, and an increase in off-grid utilities in general. If those multi-million dollar homes had elevated water reservoirs (and their pools) connected to their sprinkler systems, kept power & HEPA on, and saved themselves.

So Honda and Nissan are merging? I sure hope they lean more toward Honda’s design & engineering than toward Nissan’s. In my experience, Hondas are sleek, peppy, and reliable. Nissans are meh, meh, and meh. Huge potential for a serious internal culture clash.

I’ve listened to the first 2 episodes of the new podcast “Extraordinary Evidence: ESP is Real”, and it’s pretty good. The evidence is overwhelming at 60x higher than chance, but skeptics (including supposed scientists!) keep pretending the opposite is true.

Now that Mike Tyson has the money, I hope he challenges Jake Paul to a rematch, with NO special rules in the contract this time.
Apparently, in order to get paid the full amount Mike had to last all 8 rounds, not knock out Jake, AND not use uppercuts? Ridiculous.
