I’ve read so many and none of them prepared me for this. 🥸

The America I know and love will be lost.
I beg you and other members of Congress to please act. Act with haste. Act with integrity. Act forcibly.

4. Congress must vet and confirm Musk as the head of the department.

Without these actions, I’m afraid our great country may be coming to an end as we know it. The ideals we were founded on, continued to expand, and embrace over the last 249 years will be lost.

1. Demand immediate stoppage of all ongoing operations.
2. Congress start an investigation into possible conflicts of interest and overreach.
3. Congress must define and establish the safeguards, authority, and oversight needed for such a department.

Those emails have done nothing but cause confusion, further misinformation, and stoke fear in the people who keep our government running.

You MUST hold Musk, DOGE, and, by extension, the Executive branch accountable.

Additionally, DOGE’s ability to send emails to the entire federal workforce is an unprecedented reach into the daily operations of departments and their agencies. While the Executive branch does control those departments, administration is left to Congressionally confirmed individuals.

The installation of an outside email server at OPM by DOGE shows a blatant disregard for security. There’s a reason why so many safeguards in place for technology in the federal government and bypassing all of those allows the possibility of attacks.

Such access gives DOGE and the Executive branch the ability to view, stop, and alter payments to millions of Americans in the form of tax refunds, contractor payments, and federal employee paychecks.

The access to the payment systems of the Treasury clearly shows the Executive branch’s willingness to overstep the Constitution and Congress.

To yield such power, he should divest all possible conflicts much like the President, members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices, and federal employees should.

The power of the purse belongs to Congress, as laid out in the Constitution.

For these reasons, the potential for abuse is high with many of the shortcomings thereof being glaring.

As the owner of several major companies with many being government contractors or issued government subsidies, Musk has many, many conflicts of interest that should be addressed.

Musk is not an official that has been elected, vetted, or confirmed by Congress and his “department” operates with no safeguards in place to ensure the work it does is for the good of the country and citizens, within the law, and within what should always be a defined and narrow scope.
February 5, 2025 at 1:33 AM

Whether or not his actions have been sanctioned by the President, I feel very strongly that the access forcibly granted poses a large national security risk to the citizens, contractors, and federal employees of our nation.

I am writing to express my concern with the Department of Government Efficiency (or DOGE, as in a meme) and the unfettered access to the Department of the Treasury and the Office of Personnel Management given to Elon Musk and his subordinates.
