Tank update - Getting the tannins dialed in. I pre-soaked the alder cones I used previously to get rid of most of the tannins in them. Now i can add one without the tank turning black. Herbert seems to be thriving and im getting some good mulm/biofilm. Probably 1-2 weeks till some Neocaridina 🦐.

So I got some small plants for my tank that are supposed to branch out and create a carpet in my tank. This hooligan wants to use it as a bed and as all but destroyed them.

Pro tip: don't use alder cones in a micro tank unless you really like the look of swamp water. Its not harmful at all, just ugly. Poor Herbie is lost somewhere in there... 🐌
Ive removed the cone and added extra carbon to fix it. In the meantime I have a new mirror!

Tank update - Ive made it into a riparium setup!
I added some Golden Pothos plants to the edges of the tank. I cleaned the roots from dirt and tucked them behind my mesh wall. They will eventually weave into the mesh and combine with the moss wall. Got some good biofilm going too, so shrimp soon!🦐
