I’m going to Portland in less than a month for the Soul Jar anthology release party at Powell’s (my husband @travisflatt.bsky.social is in the new edition!) and the only thing I have packed is a pair of earrings shaped like a stack of books and a cup of tea. It could be going worse.

I buy cheap turkeys at holiday times then deep freeze until I get a craving/don’t want to cook for an entire week. This 20 pound bad boy turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself! It’s also helpful when the money is thin at the end of the month 😬

In a faculty meeting for the first time in YEARS…I forgot how hard it is to hear/understand these people especially when they start arguing. AND I have to pay attention because they are asking me specific questions. 😬

In case you were interested, the Monte Cristo pinwheels were delicious and worth the frustration. Now to clean the powdered sugar out of all my crevices…how did it even get on my feet!?

I saw a recipe video that looked good and pretty simple. Usually I lose interest after the first three steps. I am now elbow deep in dijon mustard and puff pastry dough, HANGRY, and cursing. These Monte Cristo pinwheels better be DELICIOUS!!

6 weeks of advising 250 undergrads starts today. I have managed my calendar this year so I have 10 appointments instead of 15 each day and hoping I am not a gelatinous blob like normal. 🤞🏻🤞🏻Tots and Pears appreciated!

I cleaned yesterday, I could hardly move today. I guess that means I should clean more often to build those muscles so I won’t hurt so badly after…I won’t, but I should. 🫣

Tonight I timed life perfectly so that my laundry was done and I took my shower and when I got out my towel and pjs were still warm from the dryer. So, you know, party party party.

When you inadvertently got walnutted at work and had to take Benadryl then spent the rest of the day just trying to stay conscious and still have a 7pm meeting to go to…death please. Food allergies are hard.
