i think it's a good plan to develop a portfolio, because the more art you make the more people will see it, this will get more commissioners naturally who will want to get comms

You could start out with a low commission price to see how many people are willing to buy and increase it over time and keep track of how many people are buying if you're getting less people buying then you can lower it until you find that perfect sweet spot.
