WTF?

OMB deletes reference to law guaranteeing backpay to furloughed feds from shutdown guidance

An Office of Management and Budget FAQ document now states that only excepted employees forced to work without pay are guaranteed backpay at the conclusion of a lapse in appropriations.

More cowbell - more screaming goats. There are ads running a lot on Atlanta stations directed at local police saying they will be required to "protect their sanctuary cities" and they should take the $50K and move over to ice. Most small local police are underfunded and $50K will be enticing.

When he came down the golden escalator to stacks of empty manilla folders ... so obviously a "con" and people got sucked in. It is maddening and frustrating to watch people you thought were reasonable fall for something so obviously bad for all of us.

I am 74 - I listen to Bad Bunny a lot when I am working out at the gym. You might want to give him a listen, you might be surprised. Plus he is going to be the host of SNL when it premiers on Saturday. He's very funny.

Also a retired Fed - and made it through the 30+ day shutdown. Not "essential", which hurt my feelings a little, but I survived, but a lot of folks had problems. And I feel for "essential" staff who have stressful jobs and no pay (Air Traffic Controllers, military, etc).

We will check it out. I know that Publix Pharmacy has no vaccines, my doctor has no vaccines. I will look for a CVS (I live in a very small town).

The Ryder Cup (which I used to love almost as much as the Solheim Cup) was so bad that I totally was rooting for Europe. And Hair Fuhrer was watching Faux News coverage of the unrest in Portland in 2020 when he decided they needed his help. ARGH. Where's my goat?

I live in southwest Georgia. I had to get a prescription for the COVID vaccine, however there are no vaccines available anywhere. We are also traveling soon and wanted to get covered. Might not happen.
