The EHRC has launched its consultation on its Code of Practice following the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of sex. We'll be taking time to read this carefully and discuss it with colleagues in the LGBTQ+ sector. You can respond until 30th June.

It's very concerning to see the UK slip further down the @ilgaeurope.bsky.social rankings of countries by LGBTQ+ human rights when in 2015 we topped the list. The map shows clearly we are now a poorer outlier among western European neighbours.

More time to properly scrutinise and respond to the consultation on the new statutory guidance is welcome but this contains some very concerning accounts of the actions behind the scenes at the EHRC to advocate for a position many believe is an incorrect interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling.

There is a lot of information to digest from today's Supreme Court ruling on the definition of sex in the Equality Act. We'll be carefully discussing with sector colleagues to understand the true impact of the ruling. Solidarity with our trans service users, volunteers, staff and supporters today.
