If a wedding website says the dress code is “formal/black tie optional” that just means i have to wear a long dress, but it doesn’t have to be a dark color, right? The wedding is in Brooklyn in May so I really wouldn’t want to wear black.

We got a save the date for a wedding in the spring. Is that early or normal? Also it’s black tie optional and I have no clothes for that so I’ll be renting something

I love this time of year because my socials always show “slow living” accounts talking about what our grandmas did that we don’t now. My grandma loved tv dinners and smoked a pack a day, but apparently everyone else’s loved natural remedies and growing their own food.

Just quietly sobbing on my couch thinking about all the death in the world while my toddler watches little bear and twirls in a princess dress. My heart is just breaking for all the families in Gaza, Thailand, Congo, etc.

Really in my feels today about not having a second baby. I do NOT want one 99.9% of the time. I mostly just wish my kid had a girl cousin close in age. My sisters kid is 8 and all cousins born after her are boys so my girl is often alone/not included in outtings.

The best part about my job is that not only do I have a boss who can tell me that I’m doing the wrong thing, but I also have staff to tell me I’m doing the wrong thing, and clients. Just so many people who can 100% do my job better than I can!

I need work advice. We have a staff member who brings her niece to work every day. She is a student enrolled at the school, but her mom works so my employee drives her to school since she works there. No big deal. The issue is sometimes she’s late (15+ minutes) and blames the kid.

So like… where did the bugs go? I don’t see fireflies anymore, growing up there were worms on the sidewalk when it rained, I would find spiders in my bathroom ALL the time, etc. and now I barely see any. And I work at a nature school. Where did they go?

Completely in denial that my infant baby is somehow half my size and speaking in 6-8 word sentences. How is this possible? Why did no one tell me how amazing this is? Where was all the positive “just waits”? Every day gets better and better

Small towns are nice because my sister is babysitting my sick kid and ran out of blueberries. They called the breakfast place they’re friendly with to see if he had any and he gave them a cup of blueberries for free

Friends, if there’s no more department of education, do we stop paying our student loans? Mine are through the federal government, not a private lender, so I would assume yes?

Listening to my toddler play with her dolls always makes me happy. Kids truly learn through play and she is SO gentle with her toys and is always kissing them and telling them sweet things.

Giving my in laws links and a price cap on the kids birthday worked really well. Should I be annoying and do it for Easter? We get a basket from her great grandma, grandparents, and two aunts on my husbands side.
