I was trying to remember the frequency of his bruises as well.

I had to remind myself what today was to make sure this wasn’t one of the…how many times does this happened? At least three that I can remember now.

It just has to be reliable and functional. That’s enough for now!

However in my mind GM and all the major manufacturers have a real opportunity to show the world that they can not only build an EV but one that has technology that can both last and be trusted. Trusted with your information but also trusted to work. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
We will still need internal combustion for a while but I can see where GM is trending (and obviously others). To finish this rant off I do see a world where there is a significant backlash at technology.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
So now…we have to hope that EV’s will do it. I will tie this into what @murphymike.bsky.social has been saying though that EVs tend to last longer and people who buy one don’t go back (I’ll link that interview too).

I have nothing in common with this guy but I’d just want to get a beer with him. He’s really funny I’ll act like I’m starting a writing career (which I’m not this might be a one and done) and link his YT page. Car companies have squeezed maximum out of engines.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
I am still very much a gearhead. I still love the smell of diesel. I still love the advanced engineering and evolution of the internal combustion engine. However…the ICE has peaked. Engines are not lasting. I watch a guy on YouTube regularly.

I drive an EV now a Chevy Blazer specifically. I’ve been seeing how many Chevy Equinox EVs are out there in my town. I’m still shocked there are new Tesla’s running around but there’s no accounting for taste.

In the end business owners get it twice should the continued medical care fall onto a taxpayer funded healthcare plan. The technology backlash too is also manifesting itself in cars.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Business owners who are required to carry workers compensation insurance despise it and now I see why. Their premiums pay for this and frankly I can’t blame them.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
I can’t compare it to any other state as I’ve only seen a segment in my own. However what I have seen bring on my own ‘SMH’. Even though treatment must undergo a utilization review the level of care that is just poured onto claimants and billed to insurance is obscene.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
In effect though the workers compensation system its quite guilty in the further commodification of our broken medical system.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
I say this not as a judgement, I have done plenty to be judged for (and I judge myself plenty) but this is an observation.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Given that it is well know in the industry that injured workers don’t always spend their settlement money on medical treatment, the ones that do end up placing the burdeon back on society.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
They are often denied because to qualify for SSDI you have to be substantially impaired or only be able to do a very narrow type of work because of your impairments (also if you are old enough, but that’s going to get worse with upcoming changes).
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
The admittedly cynical side too know that often happens to people is they subsequently file for SSDI benefits right after being injured.

We hope that you will go get that surgery on your own…not buy the new car or getting that remodel you were hoping to get done. Yeah its on honor system some of that treatment.
November 28, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Literally…we figure out how much your back/knee/shoulder surgery would cost, the future doctors visits, the potential costs to send you to a QME, what benefits you’d likely have earned and then…offer you a settlement.
