Predator: Badlands will make you LOVE the Predator

The movie mostly follows a Predator who barely has any weapons. It's actually a CHARACTER-BASED story that doesn't rely on showing off its cool weapons. Rather, this guy has MOTIVATIONS. I still find it CRAZY that someone made a movie with the Predator as the MAIN CHARACTER. AND IT WORKS! [thread]

So...HOW!? In this society where it's common, nay, REQUIRED to kill you for showing the SLIGHTEST weakness or incompetence, HOW does ANYBODY get educated enough to the point of inventing, building, maintaining, and innovating their space ships, plasma rifles, invisibility fields, ice grenades, etc?

And the Predator technology keeps progressing. From distant past (Prey), to modern times (Predator 1 and 2), to the distant future (Badlands), we see their weapons and technology get more advanced. So, EVEN IF their technology is all reverse-engineered, someone is clearly innovating! [thread]

HOW did the first Predator even invent a plasma rifle? Even if all the Predators' technology is reverse-engineered from other species, you STILL need Yautja who understands engineering enough to study a plasma rifle you violently stole from a rival species. [thread]

Seriously. HOW did the Predators progress as a society to the point of making invisibility cloaks, plasma rifles, space ships, etc? What is the Yautja education system even like? Do you get killed if you fail to make a space ship or plasma rifle on your first try? [thread]

There are X-Men with powers just as unimpressive as Jean but do better in combat due to their training, such as Forge, Psylocke, and Angel. Dude, Angel’s power is that he flies, and needs wings to do it. Jean can fly WITHOUT wings, and she can read minds. Shouldn’t Jean be more effective than Angel?

AND THEN BEAST USES THE DRUG ON HIMSELF? WITHOUT ANY TESTING? WHAT KIND OF SCIENTIST IS HE? Even if the drug worked perfectly, why take your own powers away on the NIGHT BEFORE YOUR MISSION TO FIGHT SEBASTIAN SHAW? Beast, buddy, couldn’t you wait until AFTER the mission to inject yourself???

The fastest drug release I can think of is the COVID vaccine, and that took the efforts of large pharmaceutical companies, a lot of funding, and it took MONTHS with the technology of 2020. Beast SERIOUSLY thought he could invent a drug in A WEEK, with 1962 technology, ALL BY HIMSELF? [thread]

Dude, Beast, you’re an engineer. WHAT makes you think you can create a cure for mutation? Even if he had a PhD in engineering AND pharmaceutics, he should be EXTENSIVELY FAMILIAR with the scientific process. [thread]

By the time Deadpool 1 came out, McAvoy’s Xavier had a head full of hair. Yes, he goes bald eventually, but not until much later. With Deadpool making fun of Professor Xavier’s bald head, doesn’t this mean it’s the Patrick Stewart version?
