Of course, it’s impossible to know for sure but experience has taught me that folk who find themselves in such a situation very much do the whole “I see both sides” enlightened centrism shtick. Which serves no-one except the bigot, whilst apparently also salving the conscience.

Never get hung up on it, we use a horrific mixture of both in the UK and it sucks. Pay for fuel by the litre and measure consumption in miles per gallon. Awesome. Milk: pints, soda, oh that’s a 2 litre bottle. Great.

Shit would really suck if no-one did anything substantive and it turned out there was a shred of competence and coordination somewhere that put wheels in motion with consequences down the line. It’s a massive gamble to let this slide completely. You’re right, this does fucking suck. 😖

I think it matters insomuch as it’s de facto a statement of intent, regardless of whether the levers are or can be in place to actually realise that intent. How others react to that intent is the big gamble here, and there’s a fat artery of American exceptionalism that is ripe for bursting.

Simple answer is: kerosene is mostly carbon and hydrogen. Add on the oxygen from combustion and the emissions are way heavier than the initial weight of the fuel.

Operationally, McLaren been pretty poor almost all year. This insistence upon being “the good guys who are fair” couple with so many bungled pit stops and questionable strategy decisions. Having a rocket ship of car masks all that until the sharp end of the season comes around.

Yeah it barely got out of ground effect, but with the loss of lift and #2 apparently fodded out there was absolutely nothing they could do. Just dumb luck they weren’t taking off on the reciprocal runway, take a look what’s off the end of 35L

The only single shred of positivity from the whole terrible sequence is its apparent that the FO never gave up, he kept on flying that thing right to the crash site.

F1 has an insane amount of female fans, way more now than I remember from the 80’s and 90’s when I first started watching. The sport has the perfect mix of occasion, drama and silliness alongside the engineering and precision to pull people in no matter how little their general sports interest is.
