Honestly the PSG sounds better than the FM on the Master System. Like the FM versions of PSG tracks are literally off key compared to the PSG ones (see Phantasy Star). However I used to have a Game Gear which had the same sound hardware, so I may be a little biased.

Tell me about it. Try to create a playlist of tracks from Spotify in album order and you still get thumps.
