Are you in the San Juan islands? More seriously does it have some kind of GPX file that can be output? Or I guess if you use an app like OutdoorActive it’ll be in that or you can manually enter it.

Can’t say about university (as when I went it I used Sun workstations) and at college I used a VAX mini computer. However I’ve dealt with fire and smoke simulations at work. Extremely CPU and GPU intensive and even then we don’t issue machines with a 32GB GPU!

That specification posted is from the Sketchup site but is for doing “serious 3D work” — the actual requirements are more reasonable.
