I'm excited about this! In addition to the great story and gameplay, the Astray Maze is my favorite game level of all time.

This made me think of this now-ancient photo of two toys that were brand new. These were attached to objects.

Also looks like all those hands are holding their heads in shame or embarrassment.

Nah, they weren't always like that. Once upon a time, gamers were grateful for whatever they could get. When AAA started getting bigger, the quantity & quality of what could be built into games grew. Today's gamers have been spoiled; many don't realize how expensive & complicated those features are.

That hasn't happened yet. We still have many years until she's 98.

Yeah, "ignorance" is an understatement.

"I didn't read the news yesterday." Considering this has been a topic of conversation for a few weeks now, it means he never reads the news (or gets briefings). So, we have a representative, the speaker no less, who's completely inept (more likely, lying).

Music seems to have a way of reaching people both physically (people listen to it) and emotionally. And the collaborative effort involved was also a key factor to its success. If today's most popular talent (singers, actors, athletes, etc) got together for something, maybe it could help unite us.

"We Are the World" was a charity single written by Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie as a fundraiser for famine that was affecting Ethiopia. Nearly 50 of the best recording artists recorded it. There was a lot of publicity and messaging around its creation. They ended up raising $63M in 1985.

All that said, I've recently started wondering if a "We Are the World" type of movement could help. I remember that reaching me (in the rural area I grew up) and having a big impact on me as a kid.

I feel like they aren't reading the room. MAGA works with a cult mentality. Those of us who oppose them don't want to join a different cult. I think most of us wouldn't trust that.

If he means "unites in a cause", then that isn't "our MAGA." It's a different philosophy & needs a different approach.

Well, pizza is a pie, and you can do a lot of things with pizza. It's good heated and good cold. Good for dinner and breakfast. So, I would be good with that. 🍕

I don't know about other websites, but Mobygames handles it just fine.

When I launched my indie game back in 2019, we didn't write paragraphs of text, but we did make sure everyone got credited for everything they did. We listed each person alphabetically and formatted them as "Name of Person" + Everything they did for the project.

Hmmm...

Ahsoka became my favorite Star Wars character with she walked away from the Jedi.

Even though Jedi are better to have around than Sith, I don't agree with their philosophy, and I really dislike the black and white approach to human nature.

But I hear what you're saying. 🙃

Yeah, we'd had ours since the 90s, I think. We had it in my house in 2003, when I moved my mother in w/ us for a while after she had a cerebral aneurysm. Back them, we had a TiVo, DVD player, & Wii hooked up to it. It's been in the guest room since we moved her to assisted living. Still worked fine.

Nice!

We had that exact same TV. When we moved from California to Washington in 2022, I gave it away to one of the people helping us fix up the house. (Those things are really heavy).

I hosted my first Friendsgiving in the early 2000s. I work in an industry that often requires people to relocate, generally a long distance. Our Friendsgiving was for all those who were unable or didn't want to go home or to their families for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I'm either hyper focusing on my daughter and her activities (almost 10, dancing/singing/acting/gymnastics/swimming/basketball/robotics) or over-focusing on work.

(or, and this was a Rolemaster system. Critical failure was a possibility for anything, including resurrection)

AND if you ran out of death insurance scrolls, you would die permanently. Based on the hourly rate and years played, most characters were worth thousands of dollars.

Gemstone III - text MuD that cost $3 USD/hour to play. If you died, monsters would pick up your weapons & shields, causing them to become more powerful. And if someone didn't heal your body before you were resurrected, you died again. 1/

Or original EverQuest... when you died, you lost experience and then levels (with no cap on the loss) and if you didn't have someone recover your corpse, you lost all your gear that you probably spent weeks camping for
