Finishing off Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel, and The Life of Chuck by Stephen King (not at all scary, Susan)! Planning to read How I live Now by Meg Rosoff, and I absolutely loved A Fortune Teller Told me by Tizano Terzani. It’s the only one I can find in English. Recommended!

I’ve been reading two books this week; The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It’s extraordinarily well written, laugh oud loud funny in places and sad too. The 2nd one is Charlie Sheen’s memoir: The Book of Sheen. Very funny, and well written too.

Still going with Stephen King’s “If It Bleeds” and continuing with banned books, just finished Maya Angelou’s “I know Why The Caged Bird Sings.”
A paragraph at the end struck me as a perfect description of the 🍊🤡, written decades in advance. It’s in tha alt text.
In order to be profoundly dishonest, a person must have one of two qualities: either he is unscrupulously ambitious, or he is unswervingly egocentric. He must believe that for his ends to be served all things and people can justifiably be shifted about, or that he is the center not only of his own world but of the worlds which others inhabit.

Oh dear! Who recommended “We were the Mulvaneys?” Very depressing! Here’s mine: The Trees by Percival Everett. This was recommended by Bill Nighy on his podcast - ill advised. He said that if we didn’t like it, we shouldn’t expect to be joining him for coffee anytime in the near future!
