Not my fault. I didn't watch the game, I tried to not even think about the game. I could not have jinxed the game. Now leave me alone while I do maple syrup shots and hug my toy beaver. #StanleyCup why?

I ALMOST made it through the Canadian national anthem without crying. Then, they spread a giant Canadian flag in the Moss pit outside the arena in Edmonton. So homesick. Birthday Boy wants us gone. Many WANT to be gone, but it isn't as simple as he believes. AND Florida just scored first. Sigh.

Why do I watch this game? The Oilers were sloppy and dumb and it's so upsetting. Plus, the superstition is strong that if I watch, they lose. I think I'll go play with kittens during the second period and see what happens.

I was so befuddled at not having Hockey Night in Canada to watch last night I found myself watching a YouTube video of a cheese expert evaluating every cheese Trader Joe's sell. Someone send help.

A real King told the Orange King Canada is "the True North, strong and free." As one of the premiers said "if this doesn't get through to him, nothing will." It didn't. I wasn't holding my breath, but thank you, Your Majesty, for trying.

Well, p00p. Congrats to Minnesota for back to backs. Ottawa couldn't quite drag it back home. It was absolutely outstanding hockey: OT of course, and nearly double OT, goalies were AMAZING. It would have been nice for a Canadian cup. Now it's all up to Edmonton.

So...skip the cheese, we need mustard. I've watched hockey from the playpen. I knew about the pickle juice, but mustard? Apparently good for muscle cramps. And gallons of sports drinks and smelling salts. And tons of towels. Go Charge!

Do I get the cheese? It could go one minute, it could go four OTs.....THIS is why given a choice between NHL playoffs or #PWHL playoffs, it's the ladies every time.

First game of the #PWHL playoffs and, surprise surprise, we're going to overtime. I'm getting snacks....last time this happened with Ottawa in the semis, it went to 4 OT periods.

So, it IS an American pope. Not orange. Shots fired by the Catholic Church? Prepping that WWIII won't be WWII? My little pagan heart is hopeful, but a little sad The Orange One isn't Catholic so he can get excommunicated. They can still call him apostate, though, right? Serious flex, maybe....I hope

Les Canadiens beat the Washington Capitals. Soundly. Do not doubt that, no matter which team we normally cheer for, an entire nation was cheering along with Montreal.

We won the last home game, but it's cold comfort. Yet again my Red Wings aren't going to the playoffs. On the positive side, five Canadian teams are going. I'm not holding my breath at Stanley coming home, but hope springs eternal.

I cried in a grocery store today when the cashier asked me how I was. Fred was out front in the Troy protests, and I said I should be there, but I was scared. She immediately got me a surgical mask, told me to pull up my hood and hide my beautiful but distinctive purse. There is hope.

BF watching Daytona. I'm watching #PWHL. The intermission talk says volumes. The little rich racers "racing" to see who can have the most kids, like their wives are fillies. Hockey players talking about having to take peanut butter and crackers to eat on the road and that pouch tuna was a big deal.

We couldn't even get a puck drop before the Tkachuks dropped gloves. But who got the first goal? Oh, yes, Montreal booed. A) it's Montreal and b) the Orange Dictator keeps threatening to make us a state. Also, that one guy you panned over? That's our PM. In the crowd, not hiding in a box.
