Dazai practically does not need to eat, he doesn't need to sleep and is still able to be more-or-less healthy. I assume he can go days if not weeks without sleep (normal human would die after a week of no sleep as far as I know) [8/9]

The consumption of energy could also resolve in him having a very bad episode. Think about it. Being constantly filled with energy and then suddenly losing it all in a moment not only makes people very tired but also very sad, [6/9]

Now, if we add his depression to it all, it would explains why Dazai is able to be so energetic around everyone but once he's alone, he's completely out of energy. It's because his ability is always active and since it's always him or others touching him, [5/9]

If we're talking about his sleeping schedule, it's like being on energy drinks. He can't fall asleep due to the energy he consumed but once it all gets used up, he's awfully tired (explains him falling asleep in work and not doing much). [4/9]

That's why Dazai does not eat much, he simply does not need to because he gets his energy from abilities (he still needs to eat SOMETHING becouse food is not only needed for energy). [3/9]

Dazai's ability works different. Instead of realising the energy, he consumes it. That also explains his lack of eating and the lack of sleeping schedule.
