would he desperately cling to aizawa or keep him at arm's length?
i think he would fundamentally believe that he is below everyone. he takes in the constant dehumanization and believes it to be true. he is made to serve others, so that is what he’s good for. he needs a lot of help.

I think people often forget that this was said in the Shirakumo chapters and is said in relation to Shirakumo and is honestly the biggest hint that he went through some truly horrible things that we weren’t directly shown

I’ve seen a lot of posts kind of treated Shirakumo closer to being like a wife/mother in an abusive relationship than an older child that was trafficked tbh. “Why didn’t he just leave” “he should’ve done more for Shigaraki” “he’s an enabler and complicit (therefore not as sympathetic)”
Random 5am thought that I may or may not unpack later but I wonder if the fact that Shirakumo was 17 and not like, a young child when he was abused is part of why him being an abuse victim is not taken seriously by the fandom. If he had been a young child like Tenko I imagine it would be different
